Solid and dependable local mechanic. After a great career as a dealer mechanic, Robby started his own shop and works on all makes. No hidden charges, no unnecessary repairs. Just great work at reasonable prices. Happy to recommend Robby and we will be using him for all our auto repairs from now on.

Robby is an excellent mechanic. Very thorough. Checked everything on my car and recommended what needed to be done. He got the work done in less than a day at a very reasonable price!!! Robbie’s automotive will be my full-time go-to mechanic shop for now on!!! Thanks, Robby
As a retiree who was new to Florida as of 2024, I’ve had a heckuva time finding a mechanic as good as the one I had in Minnesota where we moved from. But now I’ve found a mechanic I couldn’t be more impressed with.
Robby of Robby’s Automotive is a certified mechanic who really knows his stuff, having worked for years at a dealership before starting up his own family-owned repair shop. He has a great shop set-up and works on all makes and models, doing everything from tune-ups, brakes, front-end and AC work to rebuilding engines and trannies. And what I’ve liked most about Robby is he’s a great guy you can genuinely trust — a guy who provides personalized service and takes the time to listen and talk through your mechanical issues before offering advice. He’s polite and thoroughly professional but what has impressed me most about Robby is that he goes out of his way to suggest only the most reasonable repairs given your situation, never trying to soak you for anything you don’t need.
For example, when we had a horrific noise that we thought was a power steering problem in our 2005 Chrysler Sebring we’re selling, Robby correctly diagnosed it as a front-end problem requiring ball joints, a new strut and potentially both upper and lower control arms. But before the work began Robby had a great suggestion, which was to start by foregoing the upper control arm to see if the other parts fixed the problem, which it did, saving us money instead of making any unnecessary repairs we didn’t really need. Now the noise is completely gone, the car drives out perfectly and the price was more than fair. Then after discussing the problems we’re having with an old 2000 GMC Jimmy we’re also getting ready to sell, Robby steered us clear of doing a bunch of things that would cost too much to put into a 25-year-old vehicle, instead helping me out by troubleshooting a couple of problems on the spot, suggesting I start with a few of the basic things I could do myself.
I don’t write a lot of reviews but wanted to write this one because I can unequivocally give Robby my highest possible recommendation. So if you’re in the Bradenton area, or even the greater Sarasota area, do yourself a favor by bringing your vehicles to this totally fair, trustworthy, reliable and skilled mechanic.

I found Robby’s auto shop after getting tired of the difficulty of scheduling, high cost, and questionable recommendations I was experiencing at the dealer. I have a 2012 Highlander that had just passed 159k miles that I use as my workhorse vehicle to haul landscape supplies and the like for my home projects. I decided to keep the vehicle with intent to go at least another 50k miles, but wanted to update the maintenance to ensure that it would be safe and reliable. So I took to Robby with that very general direction to him to look it over and help me determine 1) what needed immediate attention, what if anything might be on the horizon but could wait, and what if anything might just not worth dealing with at all. After Robby looked over the vehicle, we discussed his recommendation and established a plan. Front and rear brakes and differentials were done immediately along with routine oil change and tire rotation. Overall cost was somewhere between 50-75% what I’d expect from dealer. And I had the significant extra benefit of discussing all repairs directly with the mechanic (Robby himself). Rear wheel bearings were done shortly thereafter, after my being pleased with the initial work. Struts were left on the To Do list as something that would likely be needed to be done sometime in the future but not immediately. And plugs and timing belt, which I’d asked him for an opinion on, were identified as not likely to be needed at all in the 50k plan.
Exactly what I was looking for. And an added benefit that Robby is a super nice family guy. He’s earned my trust and I’ll be a devoted customer of Robby’s going forward.
I found Robby’s shop searching online and decided to give him a shot with all the good reviews. I needed some help diagnosing a problem with a loud motor noise on my Ford edge. Robby got me in right away and figured out the issue very quickly for a good price! He is knowledgeable, attentive, and very kind. Let me know I could call him if we had any questions or problems. I’m impressed with this company! I will be taking my vehicle to his place for any other concerns, and 10/10 recommend him to anyone!
